Sensing
| The robot uses sensors to gain information about the surrounding environment. While moving, the robot can use the sensors to detect and avoid hitting obstacles, to sense touch, to follow lines on the pads, to sense change in temperature, etc. | |
Mambo contains the following sensors:
- Light sensor - it is an IR based sensor, used for line following and as traffic light IR receiver.

- Object sensor - an IR based sensor for detecting objects in the range 2 - 10 cm.

- Touch sensor - used for sensing touch

- Temperature sensor - for sensing change in temperature
